2016 RTI Dates Announced

RTIRADIAC TECHNICAL INSTITUTE (RTI) is proud to offer training seminars at our Salem, Illinois and Oswego, Illinois facilities. RTI was founded to provide training and knowledge to our customers. Our training includes three classes: Abrasives 101, 102 and Grinding Wheel Safety, a plant tour and lunch. Training dates are July 27 at the Salem facility and September 28 at the Oswego facility. Training will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 2:30 PM. Classes are limited to nine participants. Registration is first come, first serve.

Director of Application Engineering / Technical Training Coordinator, KEVAN EARL has over 30 years of abrasives industry experience, including 21 years with Radiac. In addition to training, Kevan’s areas of grinding expertise include: camshaft and crankshaft, centerless, external cylindrical, internal, microcentric and diamond roller dressers. Kevan holds Associates Degrees in both Manufacturing Engineering and Metallurgical Sciences.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

ABRASIVES 101

A basic course covering grinding wheel specifications including grains, hardness, structure, porosity and bonds.

ABRASIVES 102

An in-depth course that includes the grinding process, components of a grinding wheel, grain wear and size, grit size, bond comparisons and types of coolants and additives.

GRINDING WHEEL SAFETY

The course includes responsibilities of the manufacturer, user and machinist, handling and storage of grinding wheels, and the do’s and don’ts of grinding wheel safety.

CUSTOMER SITE TRAINING
